Packaging redesign that takes Canarian mojo out of the household glass jar and into single-serve portions for social snacking and tourist gifting. Market research, a three-variety visual identity, and a gift box format, through to 3D visualization.
Canarian mojo lives in a household glass jar. That format excludes every occasion young people actually eat in, and every tourist who wants to carry it home.
Oily contents need a barrier coating, and coated cardboard becomes a composite with poor recyclability. The material that looked sustainable was the worse one, which reframed the whole format decision.

The concept answered its market question, one line serving both everyday snacking and gifting, and then failed its own material test: the barrier-coated cardboard that makes the single-serve format possible is the part that does not recycle. That contradiction is what carried forward, more than the packaging did.
Guachinerfe taught me that good intentions aren't enough. The single-serve format addressed a real cultural need, but the cardboard-with-barrier-coating solution created more problems than it solved. Design requires systems thinking: material science, recycling infrastructure and lifecycle impact, not just initial appeal.
Looking back it was an early lesson in iterative design thinking. The concept isn't wrong; the execution needs refinement. Whether in product design or software, I have kept the principle: validate the core insight, stay ruthlessly critical of the implementation.
